Houseplant Weekend at RHS Bridgewater – A Dream Come True!

RHS Bridgewater is a stunning 156-acre garden in Worsley, just outside Manchester, and early each year they host the brilliant Houseplant Weekend. This year, I was absolutely thrilled that leaves and prickles was invited to be part of it. I’ve always adored RHS Bridgewater. It’s one of my favourite places to visit for a peaceful walk, so when an email popped into my inbox inviting me to be part of their annual event, I honestly had to read it twice. It was an immediate and enthusiastic yes from me!

 

The event ran over three days, from Friday 31st January to Sunday 2nd February. On the first morning, I set up my display at the Gift Shop near the entrance, full of excitement and anticipation. And what an incredible weekend it turned out to be! The RHS team were so welcoming and helpful, showing genuine love and support for leaves and prickles. Visitors and customers were equally amazing , they absolutely adored the terrarium candles, with the large terrarium candle turning out to be the bestseller of the weekend!

 

 

In addition to the shopping experience, the event also featured specialist talks and hands-on workshops, making it an inspiring and engaging experience for all plant lovers who attended. To say it was a dream come true for me and my little business would be an understatement. I’m so grateful to have been part of such a wonderful event and I’m already looking forward to (hopefully!) returning next year.
